BelTox awards

BelTox promotes the regular exchange of science in the fields of toxicology and exotoxicology and encourages, in particular, the integration of Belgian scientific activities on the international level.

In this context, the following travel grants have been issued:

  • In view of IUTOX 2010 (XII International Congress of Toxicology), BelTox has awarded travel grants of 2000 € each to present a poster at IUTOX in Barcelona, Spain, from 19-22/07/2010.  The winners were:
    • Steven Haenen, PhD student at K.U.Leuven for the poster "Applying proteomics in a mouse model of chemical induced asthma"

    • Nathalie Lambrechts, PhD student at the University of Antwerp (UA) and the Flemish Institute for Technological Research (VITO) for the poster "Novel biomarkers in dentritic cells contribute in understanding the skin sensitization process"

  • In view of the SETAC (Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry) 2010 conference, BelTox has awarded a travel grant of 2000 € to give a presentation at SETAC 2010 in Sevilla, Spain, from 23-27/5/2010.  The winner was:
    • Jennifer Dorts, PhD student FNRS at the University of Namur FUNDP for the presentation "Combined effects of global warming and cadmium exposure in Bullhead Cottus Gobio
